I arrived when it had already started and there were huge flames engulfing one of the tents- around 1pm. Whilst watching it spread to a few more tents it must have taken at least 5 min for the fire truck to arrive. Thus, a total estimated response time of 5 to 10 min

In my opinion it was lucky there were no strong winds today as the fire could have taken out many more tents and spread quickly.

It made me think how competent would the fire service be if a large building fire occurred??? If there was a big fire on the 20th floor of one of the big condo's in jomtien for example, how good would the thai fire fighters respond to this?
