one way ticket

Featured Replies

When getting all the info and forms from the Thai embassy, the consultant assured me that I could apply for my triple entry tourist visa with a one way ticket, however when purchasing my ticket the agent said They wont allow me to enter thsiland unless I have a ticket 'out' if thailand to show.

As I will probably leave by bus and travel, how cani show this..I have tried to book bus tickets to malasia online without sucess. It seems one can only buy bus tickets when in ThIland personally.

Is it true that you must show a ticket out on entering?

The information from the Thai embassy is correct. The information from the travel agent is incorrect.

The rule is simply this:

"Any person traveling into Thailand in possession of a valid visa can do so on a one -way ticket."

Please note that a 30 day "permit to enter" provided to most nationalities at their port of arrival ---- is not a visa.

In your case -as you shall have a valid visa -- you can travel on a one-way ticket.

tig 28 is right.

A ravel agency that is an IATA member usually is hooked up to the IATA database which, with a few clicks, displays the visa and health requirements. You can consult the database yourself here: http://www.staralliance.com/en/services/visa-and-health/

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
