Now I know some will say how do we know they were Red Shirts? Well, who else is there? Red Shirts fighting with protesters in Phathum Thani yesterday comes to mind. I personally I think all groups need to get off their "my way or the highway" attitude and start thinking about how they can solve the problem of the country as a whole. As an alternative can I suggest it's the evil spirits that cause aircraft and railway crashes and caused the excessive road death toll over the New Year holidays ?

Popular Post kurtgruen
Cowardly acts :-( Thaksin's henchmen, pulled the same crap, a few years back, when the demonstrators were at Government house, started launching grenades, into the tents, in the middle of the night. (RPG's) Eventually, the demonstrators got tired of being sitting ducks and took over the airport. If Thaksin wants to stir up the s&*t, he deserves to get overthrown in a coup again. Where is the military, when you need them? The demonstrators are sitting ducks again. Hopefully, the military will step in, because you can't have peaceful demonstrations, when the Government keeps killing demonstrators.

Wishful thinking....but it IS possible. There are any number of groups that could be responsible. Seems some shootings so far have been perpetrated by teenage motorbike gangs, which are the classic choice for a 'third hand' in these situations. Some by guys in pick-ups with AK47s (either the police or someone that wants to make it look like the police, I'd guess).

Hopefully, the military will step in, because you can't have peaceful demonstrations, when the Government keeps killing demonstrators. Thaksin might be behind this, but it could be any one of a number of people. It's not that easy to arrange these things, but it's not that hard either. Granted you and I couldn't just walk up to a motorsai win and say 'could you chuck a bomb over a wall at the protesters and fire some shots?'. But anyone with the right connections could, whether they be mafia, police or military. It might be someone on the govt side that thinks intimidation is the best strategy, though obviously it isn't even from a cynical point of view, but Thaksin does not need to be involved in every decision or even know about it. That should be obvious. Also, the death and injury count seem pretty even between pro and anti-govt sides. This has not been one way.
