ericg1953
Because of space constraints in my condo, the only place I have room for the clothes washer is on the balcony. I have a mechanic running a water pipe to the balcony and realize I will need an electrical outlet and drain( I have both). In my last condo I had a front loader that I spent 28,000 bht on and was happy with it. That was located inside my condo in the bathroom. I am looking for suggestions for a good machine that can stay outside. Are the top loader plastic ones the way to go? I plan on having a cover on it when not in use to protect it from the elements. Thanks for any recommendations
JimSiam
A 50 baht plastic tub and 30 baht nail brush seems to be my TGF's selected choice. "those machines don't wash properly" I am told.
Crossy
If the balcony has a roof a regular front-loader will be just fine, ours was outside for 5 years and is showing no signs of rust, it's now in the downstairs bathroom.
ericg1953
Yes the balcony does have a roof. I was just concerned that during the rainy season it can really blow in and the wind and rain are very hard at times. I live in Pattaya near the beach Edited January 16, 2014 by ericg1953
bazmlb
I would just get the cheapest one and toss it when it rusts out and replace, if you havent moved by that stage. I have seen some on special for about 6k for a single tub Panasonic

Ill head to home pro this weekend to look at what's available
jackr
Stick with a front loader. Top-loaders don't clean well enough and can't wash your towels/linen hot. It'll be fine outside, and of course make sure it's earthed!
