I was hoping someone could explain clearly in english about aircards & 3 g.

I have always used 3bb and wifi but now as I have no more, I need to get some other method of getting reliable internet to use .on short term contract....

the cards are in 3 different speeds, the shop recommended middle card . I don't need anything super fast the mostly it will be used for is watching youtube..

but I want to get a clear idea of the packages they offer as they are all based on the amount downloaded.

There's a 399 thb ( best buy on AIS) which gives 1G.

Does that mean after normal work stuff on emails etc I will only be able to watch one movie in a month? How many hours of Youtube could I watch each night for a month with that package?

I sure I missing something here ..

Basically required usage per day is that I will be working 3 or so hours a day need to be reliable connection every afternoon, then just a a few hours each evening for the odd youtube video and downloading the odd movie from TPB.

can anyone recommend what I would need?

Nobody can estimate how many youtube videos you can watch but I can tell you 1Gbyte is not enough. It is only enough for light web surfing and thats it.

Forget about downloading a movie from TPB. If you need such needs, invest in TOT 3G Unlimited package at 2Mbits unlimited speed about 790 baht / 15 days or 1490 baht / 30 days. This way you don't have to worry about gigabytes.

I use the AIS 1Gb unlimited at Bht 399 per month. BUT beware. Even if you are not in a 3G area, it still uses up you balance. Then when 1Gb has gone it reverts to Edge speed until the month is up. You do get the option to extend a further 1Gb for Bht 150 for 30 days. Also be aware that once you subscribe to this, it will automatically try to renew every month if you have sufficience balance in your phone, it will renew. I use it mostly to listen to BBC radio as I drive up & down this wonderful country and email checking and that uses about 100Mb per day. You can of course tether your phone to a laptop and use it like that. Cheers
