Violence against elderly people in Thailand, and in your own country.

The longer i've been away from the UK the more my bias in its favour has been damaged and brought low. The UK is after all, supposed to be an advanced, developed society, and yet reports of callous acts of brutality against helpless people are still way too common. Maybe the same could be said for most of the world's democracies, though there are some exceptions - Japan and the Scandinavian countries come immediately to mind. If you have the time, read this all too-familiar report of a brutal attack by a gang on an old woman just walking in the street, and answer the question : 'Is this kind of incident more or less likely to happen here in Thailand, than back in your home country, wherever that is ?' I really want to know what members feel about this. My own feeling is, depressingly, that this kind of assault is more likely in the UK than here in LoS. That makes me deeply ashamed, and sad to admit. What would you want to do to a gang that did such a thing to one of your own elderly relatives ?.....personally, i'd need sedating and locking up for a long time for them to stay healthy. Yes ,Thais and Asians in general have far more respect for the elderly .

Nice try to make it Thailand related, as the linked article is about an attack on elderly person in the UK, not Thailand related.
