endangered species for consumption?

Featured Replies

hello, is the consumption of endangered species legal in the kingdom? if so where might one avail themselves of this cuisine in bangkok? there are some species of which i am yet to sample and this may be a golden opportunity to partake of some exotic gastronomic delights

I've never come across a "Jungle restaurant' personally, however given the recent CITIES legislation passings, I'd guess the authorities would be keen to jump on such places with alacrity and divert some of the negative attention Thailand has been getting of late internationally.

Expat apocrypha tends to give that such places are run and owned by the rich and untouchable, but I'd say that can be filed firmly under the ''<deleted>'' category along with "Educated Upper Class Thai/Chinese teenagers literally lining up outside the boiler rooms and Language Centres looking for a low paid, but young, Western husband".....

excellent, i will get my people onto it, thankyou. nothing more disappointing than finding out your next conquest is classified 'extinct' rather than 'endangered'

You might want to send out the trail hounds first as Plod is on a "capture list" and may be on the run. I do understand that the stalk and kill is much more rewarding than eating the kill. Thus Plod may be the best target, his kind are far from extent, and only they and those they associate with are definately endangered. Might I suggest a 470 caliber, good range, excellant stopping and knock down power, so even a near miss can be crippling.

try brazil next, i hear there are a few species of endangered poisonous frog that should be right up you alley. else there is fugu in japan, sure to give you a thrill.
