Shipping Bike Bike - Chiang Mai to Bangkok

Featured Replies

I need to ship a Ninja from Chiang Mai to Bangkok.

What are my options?

I've heard about EMS and the post office, but I'm not sure about insurance coverage and how reliable it is.

Also heard about using the train. I know nothing about this option.

Driving the bike to Bangkok is not an option. Putting the bike on a truck and driving it to Bangkok is not an option.

Thanks all.

I've never shipped a bike; however, I've heard a few horror stories about damage.

I have seen a few waves shipped on busses but your Ninja is quite a bit larger so not sure if that will work.

train is the best, easiest, cheapest and fastest.

of course if the train works from Chiang Mai now, i am not sure.

Have you shipped a big bike using the train?

Could you point me to where I could start gathering information on how to ship and what the price might be?

Thanks! :)

there are others threads about it but very easy especially if you will be travelling with it.

Just go ask train station on which trains have cargo compartment. Be there maybe one hour before that train departs, pay for cargo, get your bike loaded and that is all.

I sold a bike to someone in Songkhla, shipped it by Post Office which was cheaper than by rail.

I met him at the nearest Post Office in Bangkok where he filled in the paperwork and we saw the bike getting strapped to a pallet.

Cost was less than 2000 Baht, transit time within 5 days. He picked it up at the PO down there.

Seemed very organised and efficient.
