mini Buses to Isaan still running?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to get from don muang to the local mini buses leaving to isaan? Is there any real danger to get stuck by passing bangkok to travel further?

Mini busses?

Issan is a big area.

Mochit is the bus station for buses riding into Isaan and not that far from Don Meuang airport, no need to go downtown, best to take a taxi I guess.

Note there is a railway station opposite the aiport for trains heading to Isaan, but not many trains/day.

Better to check train shedules here http://www.railway.co.th/checktime/checktime.asp?lenguage=Eng

Take a real bus, not a minibus.

Some confused one again?

The ONLY place that has vans from BKK in Isan is Khorat. Thats just the gateway. Tipically these leave when full-and then take the shortest route without stops. ANY town and also any village In Isan on a direct road from BKK has big buses-divided into 2nd, 1st and some even 4th=superVIP class. All start from MOchit. SOME 2nd cl. buses may take the old route via Vipavadee and even stop-if hailed, at the stop beside the wat opposite DMK. Most make longer stops to fill up at nearby Rangsit-Future. There is also of course the green church, who loves trains-these stop also DMK station.
