The Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order has warned 30 major private firms to stop providing support for the People's Democratic Reform Committee protesters, Department of Special Investigation (DSI) chief Tarit Pengdith said.

Mr Tarit, the CMPO secretary, said the warning was issued after they were found to have provided funds, vehicles and shelters for PDRC protesters. He said doing so violated the Criminal Code, the emergency decree and the Anti-Money Laundering Act.

The CMPO also warned some media outlets to stop presenting news deemed inciting unrest and mobilising an uprising against the government, he said.

Mr Tarit said the CMPO also resolved its team of negotiators led by Pol Gen Adul Saengsingkaew, the police chief, should negotiate with the PDRC leaders and ask for the return of government offices which have been occupied.

Negotiations would be held from today until Friday. If there was no satisfactory result, the CMPO would implement its operational plan to retake all government offices by Feb 3, he said.

His Skype call on the 11th of March for one ordering the party to push for charter amendment. He told the senators and MP's not to waste time on amending article 68 on party dissolution. He ordered all PM's to attend house meetings. He even said they would face an allowance cut if they lacked quorum in parliament. He ordered ministers to clarify against allegations that he owns a massive number of PTT shares.

Chalerm says seven fast-deployment units set up to "reclaim" govt offices

BANGKOK: -- Caretaker Labour Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung said Monday that he has set up seven fast-deployment units to carry out operations to reclaim government offices besieged by protesters.

He said protesters would be arrested and detained at the Border Patrol Police head office in Rangsit area if they resist the police's operations.

I can't recall that Obama handed out 10 USD cash in the slums for a vote. As well he didn't tried to make some amnesty law for his brother.

They do it differently in the US. They give states what we call "pork". These are legal payoffs, like building a bridge to nowhere or government contract or money for other things. The heavyweight senators and congressmen get lots of money for their states. Thailand's brain trusts aren't saavy enough apparently to figure out how to finesse the corruption.

And because no one in Thailand has any common sense it is just one corrupt group vying for the other corrupt group's power in my view which is worthless of course. But it is amusing to see from a Westerner's point of view how one can call Thailand a democracy if you can simply have a coup or stop voters from voting because you don't like who is in power.

Every country's politics is a joke but Thailand's is the most amusing right now to watch as an outsider.

If the police move in and Chalerm gets his wish to have protestors killed then it's likely there'll be a coup. The military already said they won't stand by if people are killed by the police.

Well that has been Suthep's intention from Day1. To goad te police into violence against the demonstrators. One thing you can be certain of os that when the batons and bullets start tto fly, suthep will nowhere to be seen.
