Beware Copied Perfume At Original Prices

Featured Replies

being sold in market village, near to the food court. i have asked a couple of times if it is copy or original, and they always tell me it is original, as she does to any one else who inquires

bought some for my brother at Christmas and wasn't received too well. On closer examination of some of the bottles Parfume is spelt Pareume, letters on the box are different sizes etc. pointed it out and the lady still claimed it was original

after huffing and puffing and making some unwanted noises, she eventually told me it was "copies from singapore"

not great value for 800 Baht a bottle

i dont mind buying copies as long as they tell you first what you are buying, and i find most people are very honest about this. not these guys tho

you mean she was lying?! surely not!

this is thailand; caveat emptor!

Nothing is real here, all copies.

I've seen this stall was near tesco, she told me they were sample bottles prices I was given at the time I could have got them in schiphol for less.

She has been there a few years.

The Singapore story is BS from her the same story from the t-shirt guys, Singapore top quality pay more....

Common sense man should tell you, no way you will get a genuine 4,000 bottle of perfume for 800 anywhere in the world. Same goes for anything. The irony is, you could probably get it in the market for 300 and is undoubtly where she gets it from

when i was back in the UK over xmas i picked up 100ml bottle of paul smith aftershave, and a 100 ml bottle of tommy hilfiger for 16 pounds each from Boots - which is 800B, so that is not necessarily true PP

just gets my goat when they swear blind it is original to take our hard earned farang currency

most people readily admit when things are copy

And you really expect a Thai to tell you the truth, especially one trying to sell you something? Reality attack needed!

and all the people from your country are really honest are they mate? why are you stereotyping all thais? having a hard time are you?

My wife buys perfumes for her Thai friends in London which they pay for in Bangkok, they don't even trust to buy the genuine article from the up-market shops What chance a stall ?

.You can buy dodgy perfume in the UK too, not unique to Thailand.

perfumes sold in the market are mostly fake.

spray on the back of your palm or wrist, perfume should evaporate almost immediately

due to the alcohol content.

only halal perfume do not evaporate due to the lack of alcohol content

buy only from duty-free places in the airport for peace of mind

vendors are constantly using "Singapore copy" to encourage Thais to buy

fyi, all perfumes have a shelf life, leaving them stagnant for a period of time will allow

sediment to form
