I was wondering if there is a board games cafe, or any other place where you can go to play board / card games in Bangkok?

Nineve games has a reasonable selection but their opening times are a bit unpredictable, get off a Pra Kanorng BTS, cross over Rama 4, and carry on along Sukhumvit until you get to a footbridge, take the right before the footbridge and about 2/3 of the way down that lane on the right hand side there'll be a shop with a wood-fired pizza oven outside. Opening times are a little patchy (read the sign outside the door about that, pretty funny) but the guy who owns it is friendly and welcoming. They're the distributors for Settlers of Catan so there's loads of that and a reasonable amount of other games as well.

Another place is Battlefield Bangkok but that's a bit nerdier, RPGs, Warhammer and that sort of thing, not sure if they do board games as much. For BB go to Punnawithi BTS, take the exit going out of town on the left hand side, walk to soi 101/1 and go down there, on the left hand side there'll be a pinkish building with a staircase on the front, they're on the second floor.

There are now many choices in Bangok, and all around Thailand.
Ninive Games is a good place to purchase and/or play as recommended previously.

There are always more places opening in Thailand. Almost every month now.

I know a chap who got banged up for 3 days for betting 20 on a bar game. The BIB was in plain clothes.

BG got taken also & bar fined.

It was only fun & nothing heavy but the BIB wanted then in & in they went
