tipping shuttle driver

Featured Replies

Hi I've booked in a hotel near Suvarnabhumi airport and they offer a free shuttle service to and from the hotel, my question is what is the norm, do you tip the driver and if so how much. Thank you for your advice.

I hope your joking. the word is FREE shuttle service. it is not free it is included in the cost of the room

I'd give the guy 30B or so. Sure, the shuttle is free, but these guys make next to nothing and I'm sure he'll help carry your luggage, etc. The driver will sincerely appreciate it.

Tipping the driver 20 baht is fine in such situations.

Used to tip them 20 baht even just from hotel to main road...just a matter of gratitude...of course you dont have to, after all it's free..it's not a joke..

I was thinking of tipping 20 Baht but just wanted to make sure, thank you for the replies

And tip the hotel maid as well...

What a bunch of cheap Charlie’s. Come on 20 or 30 Baht?. This is less than a dollar.

Yes ... 20 Baht is adequate and the norm here. 10 Baht to the guy in the restaurant car park and nothing to the guy with the whistle in HomePro ... unless it's Thai New Year.

I give 100Baht at New Year and a card to one of the doorman at our local Mall ... from day one he has been super smiley every time he sees us.

Whatever you give, do it with a smile and say thank you.
