Pattaya celebrates Chinese New Year Jan. 31 at Lan Po Park
PATTAYA:--Lions and dragons will dance from morning to night when Pattaya celebrates Chinese New Year Jan. 31.

The day will begin with Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome leading a religious ceremony at city hall, followed by the first of four Chinese lion and dragon parades. Additional demonstrations will take place at the Prince Chumphon monument outside the Naval Radio Station on Pratamnak Hill, at the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation in Naklua and, in the evening, down Walking Street.

Religious ceremonies also will be performed at all but the Walking Street parades.

In the evening, acting Culture Minister Sonthaya Kunplome will open the city’s official Chinese New Year celebration at Lan Po Park.
