Hello everybody, I work in a familiar wild mushroom company in Spain and Im so interested in the commercial aspect of milky mushroom.

We do trade with a same generous mushroom (Calocybe gambosa) and I would like to know if it does have similar features like

strong flour smell and strong taste. Since I saw milky mushroom video in youtube, I have been looking for the possibility of seen with my own eyes this

mushroom and think about possibilities of inporting it, but I havent find any company who can produce it. If any of you thinks that can help me in this aim,

please let me know, I wouldn´t mind to travel anywhere in the world.

Hi, I'm not a farmer yet but am looking to learn more. Is it too late for me to join in this meeting? Just read about this and I'm pretty excited.

Need to check with my missus again if she wants to go along IF sign ups are still possible..

I'm currently in PakThongChai and am scheduled to go up to Loei this week or next..

Hi Wolfrunes,

No it's not too late to register for the meeting, just let us know numbers of people attending once your missus has made up her mind. As Dancealot says you can email to Khun Nut (the owner of the resort) direct at : navaporn rotchanapatum <[email protected]> Tell her you'll be attending the farmers meeting. WF

Hi Revar,

There is no rigid agenda, you can play it by ear when you are there - if you want someone to be able to take your wife from Col. Packdee's farm to the resort so she can check you in whilst you go feed the pigs then that won't be a problem. Then you can return directly to the resort. WF

Hi. I will be attending alone if its still possible. Will not be able to stay for the social aspect in the evening thou as I will need to continue my drive up to Loei.

Starting point for me is from PakThongChai. If anyone needs a lift around my area still please let me know.

At the risk of losing all credibility on this forum, it looks as though I have to say no for the third time. No money! No beer looming up as a dread future.

This looked really interesting and I was looking forward to meeting up, oh well. Maybe I'll win at Lotto or something.

I won't be able to make it this time. Maybe, just maybe, I'll manage to get to the next gettogether. Have a great weekend.

Dave

We shall miss you Dave, however we'll drink a toast to your generosity in sponsoring the drinks. Hopefully one day you'll manage to get to a meeting. Cheers WF.

Hi Packdee,

I am slightly worried by your Agenda!

You have the registration time as 8.00-10.00. We have a 4 hour drive to reach you and I know that some of the others have an hours or so more than us which would mean a very early wake up. Are you able to adjust this?

The other worry is that the 5 hour teaching which you are proposing is maybe a bit to professional for us. Many of us are retired and country lovers who have started up small farming ventures of various types. The Farmers Meetings give us a chance to meet like minded people, see different ventures or show people round ours and also see if any problems we have can be sorted out. As you will have seen your mushroom enterprise has created a lot of interest but I think that most would be interested to go into mushrooms growing more for semi domestic consumption rather than as a commercial project. I worry that your 5 hours of teaching may be rather professional at this stage and that a simpler overview with question and answer sessions may be better. Then those who become interested in growing Milky Mushrooms professionally will be encouraged and can join the professional teaching programs which you do. Just a thought and I hope this does not sound discouraging as we all are really looking forward to coming over and studying your enterprise.

Much look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

I made mistake by copying my normal one day training schedule to be our meeting agenda.

The Isaan Farmers Meeting Agenda should be:
10:00 - 13:00 Register and lunch (Tasty Ayuthaya noodle, served on demand, unlimited)
13:00 - 16:00 Trip around mushroom farm, short seminar, wild mushroom hunting game etc.
16:00 – 16:30 Move to Banrai Jomthong resort.

Those who want to know more will come back on Sunday morning to take full training for free.

But as WormFarmer said: "There is no rigid agenda, you can play it by ear when you are there."
This agenda can be amended, up to the situation.

Hello all,

like HerbalEd, I only read your posting today and the team are in the middle of harvesting our straw mushrooms so we will have to pass on your meeting. Shame really, because we'd be very interested in swapping ideas etc., and to learn about milky mushrooms ( never heard of them before ). Perhaps the organizer can take my TV name and advise me of any future meetings ? It would be greatly appreciated.

Only me coming now - Ann's village team got through to the intra-tambon volleyball final and she's apparently the star defender and has to be there! More beer for us.

Should be there by 12.00. Got a fright at the first cut agendalaugh.png

Finnomick: Farmers Meetings are not a very structured affair with no one person as organiser - whoever volunteers to host a meeting will announce it on the Farming Forum and anyone who wants to go can say so on the forum. Generally, if there has been a willing host, meetings happen about every three months. I think it probable that the next meeting will be hosted by Bergen who will hopefully confirm this at the forthcoming meeting on Saturday and in due course announce details of time, date and venue on the forum. So keep a look out for details of the next meeting on the Farming Forum.

If you want to know more about milky mushrooms in particular then Colonel Packdee organises seminars to teach people how to grow them, so for that you should contact him directly.
