Earl Grey has always been nasty. Just ask his wife!

In the world of tea it takes a lot to beat the good old British Typhoo in a bag, but Lapsang Suchong knocks 'em in the aisles (isles?) when you order it in posh places and they can't supply.

Some coffee snob once tried to impress me by ordering Blue Mountain in some smart place or other, and I have to admit it's a lovely drink. But when I asked for Chagga Blue ("Terribly sorry sir, we hope to have some in next week...") I scored 20 points on the Poseur Scale.

But to answer the query on which this delicious thread is based, my truthful answer right now at 10.15pm with nothing much to do tomorrow is pink gins with ice. The excellent value Gilbeys (brought into Thailand cheap from the Philippines on some clever tax dodge) with the equally potent angostura bitters, and of course no water. Fish do terrible things in water, y'know.

And follow my advice please. Don't drink and drive. You'll only spill it.
