Udon to Vientiane?

Hi.

At what time I need to take the bus to be at the Thai embassy in Vientiane.?

Any advises for hotel, trip.?

I do all by myself, no agencies involved.

I will ask for a 2 entries visa tr.

Will bring bank statement , return ticket to europe and letter of thai sponsor that I m invited to stay in Thailand for visit.

Your best bet is to fly into Udon the evening before you're planning to apply for the visa. Take the 200 baht, 40 min. van from the airport to the border, then stay overnight in Vientiane, apply for your visa in the morning. Stay a second night in Vientiane (a very pleasant, laid-back city), pick up your visa in the early afternoon, and then leave Laos in time to make the evening flight out of Udon (same van, same 200 baht) back to Bangkok.

You don't need the ticket or letter from sponsor. Make a copy of Lao visa/entry before going to consular section.

Check Nok Air for flights to Vientiane that are fly/ride via Udon.

Staying overnight before can save the big rush from airport if you arrive in the morning. Then be at consular section early the next morning.

Also avoid applying on Monday or Wednesday.

I know not Vientenne, but another laos option to consider is Savannakhet, just got back yesterday - trouble free from bangkok, cost me 5700 all up including transport, accom, food etc.

I know savanakhet very well. Never got any problem.

Just tired of it, and I want spend 2 night in Udon this time for a change.

My friend write me a letter in Thai . What I do, where I stay, and say I don't need to work as I have my money. In case of problem, they can call.

It has always been accepted without any question.

just did double entry in Vientiane monday last wk - with abt 150 other people.

As Joe said, no need for documents or bank statements, just application, 2x pics and copies of passport, lao visa and lao entry stamp. And 2000Bt. no questions asked.

Did mine on busy monday - if you plan that, recommend be in front of consulate latest 7.45 to get early slot on queue. I was about 7.50 with queue no 19...managed to drop application

around 930.

shop look eat drink etc for next 1.5 days and then pick visa 1.30 next day. hop to van to border 100Bt

stay on south side of the tourist area then consulate is nice walk, if go further north a bit too far to walk, need taxi which is no prob to find
