Current waiting times for new Thai passport at Chaing Wattana?

Hi, Does anyone know the time it takes to get a Thai passport at Chang Wattana, Bangkok at the moment?

Only my friends gf has called saying she has to stay and wait an extra week for her passport!

I was under the impression that they issued passports same day.

Seriously? You haven't heard about the protests that are shutting down the government offices on Chaeng Wattana?

I believe that Thai passports are currently being issued near Bang Na....somebody will come along with the correct information shortly if I don't find it first.
