Can Thais Go To Cambodia With Just Id?

can a thai enter cambodia for just a couple of hours without a passport?

ie. can I take someone on a visa run with me? they dont have a passport just id card.

IME the Thai immigration will say NO.

"If you do not have a passport and get in trouble, we cannot help you...."

The Cambodians will admit a Thai, using id only, for a nominal daily charge.
