My partner has a 2 year old Scoopy that was in pristine condition until he was sideswiped by a tuk tuk... The back plastic wheel well panel has a nasty gash thru it... The Honda shop can replace the panel for 8,000 baht!... Is there a motor cycle junk yard that sell parts?

If suggest going to a different honda place. My wife had a fight with a 16wheeler truck and gashed all the side panels on her brand new scoopy a couple of years back. Twisted the shocks and loads of other bits too (indicators, brake handles etc etc)

She got a little scrape on her hand. The policeman asked her what Buddha she wore.

Anyway, we replaced all parts with original honda parts at nat honda. Cost just over 10k. And that was mainly the brand new shocks, as I insisted they put new ones on, as they had suggested just straightening the existing ones!!

Anyway, try a different shop. Or get a thai friend to look online to get an original panel and take it to any backstreet shop to replace.

In fact, with just one panel, I'm sure a backstreet shop will go and get the panel and install it cheaper than any honda place.

Dang, I got a new plastic panel for my Dream 125cc for 450B!

Check out Pii A at the Wat Nantharam 3 way intersection (over near Wulai road) his shop is right on the corner across from the temple's entrance, very minimal English though.

Sorry to change the subject.I'm willing to bet the tuk tuk's insurance company didn't pay any money. The reason I say this is there

Is A rumor tuk tuk's don't carry insurance.

sfokevin,

what Honda shop did you go to? That sounds very expensive for that part. I have a CRF250m and always go to the Supiah Panich Honda parts shop which is on Kaeo Nawarat road (Its the road that takes you to the bus station). Its just past the Honda motorcycle dealership and on the same side.

The lady at the service counter before you go into their after market area is very good at finding the parts you require via their service books. So far any replacement parts that Ive needed havent been expensive (And that for a variety of Honda bikes not just the CRF)

If you havent tried them then Id suggest to go have a look. I priced some plastics for a neighbours PCX150 that he scraped after being knocked over by a drunk driver (Funny how that happens a lot here) The front plastic panel and a side skirt thing plus a glove box cover were just under 500 baht all up. Hell thats cheaper than getting a repair done!

Best of luck!

That would be Saengchai, perhaps the largest Honda parts distributor in the area. Not much English spoken, but if you speak Thai that women is indeed very helpful amongst the chaos of every small repair shop owner coming in to buy needed parts. They don't do repairs there so if you need more labor intensive repairs just pay the extra markup on parts at Nat Motors as the labor is inexpensive.

Thanks for clarifying their correct name.... I tried to find the one I was using but always drew a dead end (Perhaps if I took a bit more notice when Im in there it might help) Cheers again and that name now goes in my notebook of useful places.
