Bangkok Shutdown causing Lands Office delays

Featured Replies

I purchased a condo 3 years ago now from an award winning reputable company.

It appears to be finished. Furniture in rooms etc. It's way overdue.

For nearly a year now they have been claiming they are waiting on Lands Office to finalise.

I dont imagine that I'm the only purchaser getting a little frustrated.

Last month they claimed further delay is because of Bangkok Shutdown and are saying they have to invoke

"Force Majeure " situation. Act of God Clause I guess. It's beyond a joke now.

Does anybody know anything that the Lands Office cannot approve paperwork on projects in Pattaya because of the Shutdown.

I think they are giving you a line of BS, as I know for a fact that it doesn't take that long, as I bought another Condo year ago January, and me and the seller went out to Land title office and did all the necessary transfer and tax payments. It took us about 5 hours, but that was including the waiting time.

Agreed on the BS. I just completed the purchase of another condo in Bangkok 3 weeks ago, was no different to usual, 2 weeks after the signing of contract we went to the land office, all completed with no incident.

I would suggest maybe there is an issue in the fact that they didn't have the correct licencing before the project was started, or there is a financing issue somewhere. Nothing to do with land office delays guaranteed !

Was it built by one of the big, reputable condo developers ?

Was it novana by any chance??????

Putting your money down on something that hasn't even been finished sure seems like a silly thing to do in Thailand. Even more so in Pattaya.

More to the point, just never buy only rent, full stop, and you'll be much better off.

Thanks for you comments.

No not Novana but very reputable multi award winner.

They are offering compensation per month and say it should be finalised next month.

I've heard this since June last year.

Appears to me they use the money and the labourers to start another project and another.

Heres hoping for next month. Hmmmmmm
