webfact
Yingluck now in Chiang RaiBANGKOK: -- Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is now in Chiang Rai province to follow up drug suppression and progress in the development of economic zone operations. She was welcomed by a group of hill-tribe people who shouted “PM Soo Soo” as she arrived at the Chiang Rai airport. There was no sign of protest by whistle-blowing protesters. She was scheduled to call meeting with local officials on matters related to the economic development of the upper part of the northern region this afternoon.Asked by reporters whether she will return to Bangkok to acknowledge malfeasance in office charge to be filed by the National Anti-Corruption Commission tomorrow, she refused to answer but said she would discuss with her working team of advisors first. But there was high possibility she will not return to Bangkok to face the charge as she is on a two-day inspection visit from today. Tomorrow she will be in Chiang Mai.The NACC chairman Vicha Mahakhun warned earlier that if the caretaker prime minister does not show up to acknowledge the malfeasance charge, she would lose the chance to have the full copy of details of the charges that would be beneficial to her in defending her innocence.Source: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/yingluck-now-chiang-rai/ -- Thai PBS 2014-02-

webfact
PM keeps mum on whether to hear rice charges from NACC tomorrowBANGKOK, 26 February 2014 (NNT) – Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is paying official visits to northern provinces while refusing to answer whether she will appear before the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) tomorrow to hear her charges stemming from the rice pledging scheme.Ms Yingluck is today traveling through Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai provinces on an official trip. She is accompanied by several ministers, including Minister of Transport Chatchart Sittipunt, Minister of Interior Jarupong Ruengsuwan and Deputy Minister of Education Sermsak Pongpanich.Asked whether or not she would acknowledge charges put up against her by the NACC on February 27 as scheduled, Ms Yingluck briefly said she would need to consult her legal team first. In her capacity as Chairperson of the National Rice Policy Committee, the premier is facing a charge of dereliction of duty, which is a result of the corruption-plagued rice mortgage program.Previously, Ms Yingluck posted a Facebook comment, questioning the NACC’s treatment of her case. She claimed the NACC spent only 21 days in its deliberation process before resolving to press charges against her. In response, the NACC confirmed the transparency and impartiality of its deliberation, clarifying that the case had been ongoing since December 2012.-- NNT 2014-02-26

She has left it a little late to discuss it with her advisors. Today the 26th. Why doesn't she come up with the truth, for once in her life, and say, that she will ignore any rulings or court orders, as always done in the past?
Goat Roper
Give her a break. She is among friendlies in CM and CR. She will discuss with her advisers (aka her brother) about her next move. I wonder if her brother's G5 is setting on the runway at the CM airport? Has she already shipped her thirty steamer trunks full of bounty to CM?

Popular Post Scamper
There is now no distance between Yingluck and Thaksin. Even the pretense of that has gone. Thaksin's disdain for the independent agencies and the courts is now being enthusiastically adopted by Yingluck. Is this the example she wants to set for the country - that the independent agencies and the courts can be simply ignored ? Is that what she wants to convey to the people ? She has now been reduced to create an inner world for herself - a world that now apparently includes airport tarmacs where no protesters can express their displeasure. In addition to a constitutional vacuum, she has created for herself her own vacuum - her own world - as her public appearances now have to be choreographed so carefully that they keep her away from any sound that even remotely resembles a whistle.

Popular Post quagmirefg
Hill tribe people do not enjoy Thai citizin status and can not vote. Why would they care either way about YL? The people in the press pics are to well dressed to be hill tribe who are essentially stateless and for the most part poor. Based on the initial pics of this OP. Most likely those greeting the PM are VIP government supporters and Elites or Rich of the north. The pics of the arrival was within the airport tarmack security area. Protesters would not be welcome or allowed inside that zone. Chiang Rai is a pro government and red shirt stronghold. Those with opposition to the government or red shirts would not protest in Chiang Rai given the history of intolerance. The more current pics show Hill Tribe Ladies. Unfortunatley they were most likely paid for thier attendance. Edited to reflect the most recent press pics on this site. mrtoad
Yingluck again has failed at anytime to show any form of democratic principles or ideologies, much the same way as her brother in the past. All democratic governments have agencies, that are there to keep checks and balances and to ensure that they comply with the rule of law, unless it is a dictatorship - and let's be honest how many dictators have there been that have "come from election?"

Brevity
ALL Thais should be very offended by this. She follows big brother's orders to a tee and makes a shambles of Thailand, reduces its global economic situation, basically destroys its #1 world rice exporting position, does more to divide the country than any PM in Thailand's history, indirectly kills some citizens, and sets up an extremely difficult situation that could lead to a civil war. Then when she is called on to defend her actions through the legal system, she runs away with her tail between her legs like a soi dog. She is amazingly self-absorbed and egotistical, always looking for people to bolster her fragile ego or a place to bury her head in the sand and pretend everything is okay. She obviously has no conscience, because if she did, we'd be reading about her suicide.
