Does any one know what is happening with the suan sawarn condominium project ?
Is it still a derelict building site or as anything happened to it in the last year or so

I know nothing of that development.  However, I can tell you with absolute certainty that it has not moved forward for one or both of the following reasons:

 

1. Poor planning

2. Insufficient project dollars remaining after corruption

Actually there is work being done now, I was quite surprised to see it.

 

I think it is a poor design, far too small and hate the stairs, but hopefully it will be finished one of these years

 Yes it has been a long time---but patience is a virtue and you "fatdrunkandstupid"( good name) are on the list of people who obviously make comments and talk without engaging their brain---and like you never visited the site.

Who is actually the developer now is it still the TAG group Gordon GIllen or is it another developer now?

Yes, it is the same company, and the same Gordon Gillen!! However their are "three" contractors now working on site---under the control of the main contractor! They are certainly "cracking" on with "A" unit and "B" unit. Even got the garage pumps working now---nomore flooding, i hope!  I have two double units and have been and REREGISTED my new address,and confirmed my e.mail ----------and i suggest others who have units do the same,because they will send any contact re;;"Final Payment" to your last "known address" and if you do not reply within their time limits, under the Tag contract you could loose out!

 

I would like to make contact with other Suan Sawarn unit persons?

No its still Gordon, however Its not Tag group now!

It would be nice if somebody down there would go and make some pictures and published then here on site, so we all could see the progress?? it would also be great if somebody went to office to ask for expected completion date?? any news is better then no news......

it is way overdue, it should have been completed in 2009, so more than 4 years late so far, better late than never..........

I paid a visit to the office February and spoke with "Max" Nawach Singhapak Project Manager 0816875793, who i understand is collating and liaising with the Main Contractor on site.My reasons for the visit was to confirm my new address+e.mail and he said;quote:- G. Gillian MD and TAG was the developer. Perhaps you have access to more recent info IW (ianwrd4)? He also stated they were finishing "A" "B", completion date for these units to be confirmed --but late 2014 !

Once again i would like to form a meeting with all unit holders in Thailand.Also abroard(via e,mail)---so we can "brain storm" ideas,present a collective front for any contentious issues that WILL arise re:- standards of finish(workmanship),contractual problems etc etc!

I actually took the company to court to get my money back won the case they agreed to pay me my money but still waiting for my money. Was told that the company as no money and that I was one of many people waiting to get money back. The banks will be the first to get there money back. Also told Gordon GIllen could no longer be a director of a company in Thailand because of all the money that he owed. If anyone as any more information please let us know

Don't buy condos off plan from shifty farang "developers." Only deal with reputable Thai ones.

33 square meter 1 bed " Apartment "  ฿1,300,000  what a bargain !

I am a bit late in joining this forum but would like to join or meet up with members of your support group. I too bought a condo in suan sawarn back in 2008 . After many attempts to get my money back including a compromise from Gordon Gilles that ฿50000 would be paid into my bank account , which never happened . I have been told by email from Nawach that I must take the company to court and get interest on top of my refund due .

I have experience of being scammed, by developers and lawyers, so take notice of the following.

Taking the company to court is an easy solution. Getting money out of them, even after a positive judgement, will be very hard. The money is gone, tied up or hidden.

Do yourself a favour. Get an out of town lawyer. More expensive but not subject to local pressures.
