now how exaggerated were the red claims that the north were all behind their idea of seperation, seems they dont know how to count or the people of Thailand no longer fear them and their bully boy tactics. Democracy at work, people telling the reds exactly what they want and reds cant do a thing about it except lie and deny they even suggested it.

There is a great difference in political separation from the central Government in Thailand and complete separate states!

The end product sought by Northern Red Shirt leaders is to decentralizing government in Thailand, having a separate but equal states within the country of Thailand , with their own elected leaders and own laws that do not conflict with the federal laws of the nation. Each particular state can address problems within the states which would put a stop to the mega project that have been the bases a corruption in Thailand for decades.

Number one it is a legal political separation placed before its resident citizens of the target political subdivision in a referendum election. That is the legal separation that the Red shirts had announced they were seeking prior to the Army's actions.

The Army has the right to accuse but they should make certain their information is correct as it could result with these army leaders becoming the target of libel suits!

Cheers

Dont try to clean up your story its too late, you are with the turn coats trader. Cheers

when they say "volunteer" army you know they're being paid.

when the banners go up you know they mean the opposite.

who's idea was this anyway, who funded it?

let the propaganda machine run full throttle. thumbsup.gif

Thaksin funding it, for sure, although I have no proof.

I don't think this is the end of it by a long way.

Thaksin's dream of a separate Thailand were leaked a little too early while the plans were still in the hatchling stage.

Plenty of things point to some sort of intention to stage some sort of massive dissent by the north against BKK and the south.

Given enough time and building of a red militia force (especially armed) with a decent strategy and a decentralized government set up from current PTP MPs, The Shin Clan at the top, Recently unbanned Thai Rak Thai ex MPs. The movement may well have had some chance of giving a good push for separation.

Unfortunately, the stupid red idiots could not keep their stupid big bragging mouths shut, and blew the whole plan wide open into the public eye. Where it was inevitable that the Army and PDRC and of course the general public were going to jump all over it.

These new 'anti-secession' banners now appearing are almost certainly being put up on direct orders from Thaksin, and YL under the pretense that it is from 'the people'. But it has already been revealed to be by unknown government officers. (government authorities of unknown agencies.... AKA aligned with the PTP).

This is not back-peddling, this is just throwing up a smoke screen so that they can continue to build their movement albeit, totally underground and secretly now. They will have learned their lessons of being to quick to make announcements of their intentions.

We all know that this government are finished in mainstream Thai politics. If they want to see their master back and continue raid public coffers, they know they have to create a new Thailand that they can rule like the Kims in PDRNK. 'We take everything, and you will accept it, disagree and you will be shot'... We know Thaksin is more than capable of being as bad (if not worse) than Kim Jong Un, you just need to look at his war on drugs to see that.

The army have a chance to nip this in the bud by seizing all those they consider at the top of this movement and locking them straight up in prison as a national security measure.

The stakes are very high with these latest developments. Very high indeed, and Prayeth needs to think deeply on this one, but not for too long. A declaration of martial law in Chiang Mai and BKK will allow them to pick up all the 'wrong uns' and send out a huge message to the rest of these red rebels, you get arrested for inciting secession, then it is mandatory life with no royal pardon.

That is how you have to deal with these things.

While I personally believe regional devolution would be a boon to this country, and there probably are people with enough political knowledge to be asking for that, it is not what these people have been saying. They have been calling for a separate state, the banners/headbands/plaquards/etc even state "republic". This is a dangerous line, and they have done a p!ss poor job of walking it - but have dived headlong over it into treasonous grounds. Calling for regional parliaments under the same nation would not have fallen into the same area, but there has been no rhetoric to that effect, only back-peddling. As with liable, les majeste, inciting violence, and other forms of verbal illegality, it only takes the public (and often not even that) utterance to be charged and found guilty, being angry is not a viable defence - not meaning it is not either.

A few people speak up or put up banners and apparently this is what Chiang Mai thinks. BS, I live here, and it's not as red as you might think.

Me too - and agreed - especially in the city.

Suthep might have had somthing to do with this.

...or the monkey that lives in the moon - "might have" covers all possibilities. Suthep would be dead pretty quick up here - not many people would have the balls to stand on a bridge putting up signs under his orders. Also, just how did he manage to get the Red leadership to follow his orders - and do so going back six months ago, before he even left the Dems and joined the anti-amnesty rally????
