Yingluck should heed her own calls for fairness

The hysterical reaction to claimed "separatism" by red shirt activists in the north has seen the military, always predictably hysterical in such situations, reverting to 1960s/1970s counterinsurgency language and methods.

The mutually-supportive quotes from both the coup-monger spokesperson, and police complaints by the military, clearly shows the collusion between the two.

It may seem odd then that the anti-democrats themselves have created their own separated domain in the center of Bangkok.

That said, what is the headline?....An anti-Yingluck one, even when she clearly states her opposition to anything to do Separatism..... Damned of you do - damned if you don't.

Besides, astute observers will realize all of this is in fact another fabricated issue and tempest-in-a-teapot, expressed with over-the-top self-righteous indignation by the coup-mongers and shadowy supporters, trying to obfuscate their coup-intentionism.

The anti-democrats have taken over Lumpini Park and have taken the law into their own hands, searching anyone entering the supposedly public park.

There have been numerous complaints that people being spoken to rudely, manhandled and theft. There have also been allegations of assault. Little of it reported in their supportive media.

Of course this is normal for the anti-democrat guards who are thugs and alleged military men.

The anti-democrats seem to have created an anti-democrat mini-kingdom in the heart of the city.

Above the law, the anti-democrats are still able to act with impunity.

Mental masturbation of grand proportions. This is way over poor Yingluck's head. There is no evidence whatsoever(even anecdotal) that she even realizes that she is the prime minister of a nation, never mind asking her to be a fair leader. IMO fairness would be the Shins giving a large grant to help the lives of those that are legally retarded through having abnormally low IQ.

The subject is a call for fairness, I have read here many people have agreed the legal system is dysfunctional with a elderly mushroom pickers being jailed for 15 years, red bull jr, cop killer going on holidays too Singapore, and a very well connected young lady driving and a minni bus crash killing 9 people, and the list goes' on,

either you reject your earlier statements that the legal system here is quite fair or not, so which is it???

jaidam, would you care to clarify you last sentence on your post here ie, legally retarded, and having abnormally low IQ.?

The good so called leader of the PTP reals from one disaster to another , perhaps she should have had more experience in politics ,instead of dumbing down the important office of Prime Minister, this of course has proved a problem for the PTP because under plan "B" Thaskin should be back in control , the last desperate gasp was the Amnesty Bill, however others have other idea's , so Caretaker PM Yingluck is left holding the monkey.bah.gif

This whole saga is just plain boring........get it done and over with already whatever they think they need to do.

In my 18 years I gotta say, Thais have no heart, no motivation, just talk, throwing insults at each other and letting the country go down the drain.

So many issues they could work on : Droughts/floodings, building extra prisons, reforming the educational system, reorganizing police......lots of work to be done.......but as Thais do best........talk, talk some more, yap yap yap.

Bunch of dipshits really.

"... She said she had warned the red shirts and Cabinet members...". Was that a public announcement or does she regularly hold meetings with the redshirts up north?

Get with the program.......she rules/announces/meets through Facebook!

Is The Nation still trying to bang this drum of succession? It's over, nothing to see here.

Any excuse to have a go at the government or the UDD and this rag, along with the usual suspects on here, are all over it like a cheap suit.

Why doesn't the army get back to "armying", running TV stations and whatever it is they do in between coups and shooting Thai civilians and leave the politicians to the politicking.

You mean leave the government alone and carry on with what they have (NOT) done in the last 3 years ?? If you think this is brilliant some therapy is needed somewhere along the line. You must be so proud of their achievements.

The previous message brought to you by the Thaksin-UDD Cyber Warrior's Propaganda Bureau.

i.e a position that you don't agree with.

Why can't you lot just say you disagree with something, without all this ridiculous posturing about propaganda? Say what parts (or all or of it) you disagree with and come up with a counter argument, not this childish, name calling, cop out.

Some seem to be very anxious to bury the 'incident'. Probably next to the blanket amnesty bill, also to be conveniently forgotten.

BTW the topic has

"Yingluck defended her red-shirt supporters, saying they might have raised the idea of a separate state out of resentment. She said she had warned the red shirts and Cabinet members who raised the idea of secession.

Yingluck has also asked the Army not to show bias in its treatment of people on either side of the political divide and to avoid double standards."

So, Ms. Yinglucks supporters didn't really mean it and have been warned. Following she asked the Army to show no bias to people on either side of the political divide, including those who didn't even mention secession. Makes sense.

Yingluck is clearly instigating violence by posting on her facebook that the independent organizations don't treat her fairly. These messages are merely put up to warm up the red army. She should have a look in the mirror and feel a shame of her actions. If only her family would have stolen less from the rice scam many farmers would not have been suffering.

I feel really sorry that so many people are suffering because of her hunger for money and power.

Well I'm certainly not proud of the armys record, are you?

I mean what I say, this talk of succession by a small group of UDD members is just that, talk. Nowhere do I say that I condone succession, strangely enough, exactly the same position held and announced publicly by the UDD.

But, oh no that's not enough for the anti's. It has been deliberately misconstrued and people like you and this excuse for a newspaper are just using the knee jerk response of a <deleted> stirring Army Chief appealing to Thai nationalists, as a stick to beat the government with. If you don't like what the government has done, vote them out, there's never been a better time to do so.

It's just part of a very poor attempt at attrition politics.

It just occurred to me that perhaps Yingluck was being truthful with her facebook comment of it only being 21 days. Just because everyone else in the country know the rice scheme was being investigated for more than a year and that she was under investigation for almost the same amount of time doesn't mean that she knew. Maybe someone only mentioned it to her 21 days. No way to know if she reads newspapers or watches the news herself. So give her the benefit of the doubt.

The only sign of hope for the nation has been Yingluck's call for non use of force against the demonstrators, that facing the same predicament the Abhisit government and the PDRC leader turned the military loose on the protesters in protest of old! Yingluck has always done what is legal with in the frame work of the Thai constitution.

Any society should strive for equal treatment for all in the country which the Nation military have clearly sided, with the PDRC, there was rumor in the morning paper about a mystery van in the army generals motorcade yesterday protected by PDRC guards on motor bikes!

Make one wonder!

Cheers

Once again, you're full of it.

The only reason force couldn't be used on the demonstrators is because she couldn't order the Army to do it. And as seen by the clash when the police moved in, they're woefully inadequate for the job. That's not to mention the courts also. You're being extremely dishonest by pretending that Poo is all saintly because she won't use force on the demonstrators. It's not 'won't', it's that she 'can't'. She's toothless.

If she's really all for 'fairness', her government should order the arrest of Kotee or at very least condemn his actions. Instead they're pretending that it means nothing.

If my post is "a rehash of the OP" wouldn't that implicitly mean it to be on topic as well?

In a way your reply here doesn't make sense and seems meaningless.

To return to my point, it would seem as some here think any reason to condemn those who point out peculiarities of Yingluck and her government seems to be a good reason. Better to avoid going into it, just say it's shoddy journalism, blame the others, look in the cookbook for possible replies.

Well, that would suggest some are getting a wee bit desperate, now wouldn't you say?

Ms. Yingluck has forfeited any credibility when it comes to fairness. Even now - as a private citizen - she clings to to the belief that she can simply dodge the law at will, avoid hearings, admonish independent agencies, turn a blind eye to the secession movement within her own party and her own former cabinet ministers. She's had her head in the sand since day one. This country would have been far better off if she had simply stuck to her facebook page. She was never ready for prime time. And the sad thing is - she isn't ready for late night viewing either.
