Neeranam
Thai people want lots of notes - it's a face thing.
natway09
The anti-laundering departments in all countries keep pushing for less size notes eg China Yuan only 100 now, before 500 NZ & OZ same. I do not think Thailand will mint a bigger note in my lifetime. U wanna buy a new car, get a banks cashiers cheque (or if money laundering a big suitcase)
larsjohnsson
No necessity. I doubt most people's everyday needs extend to using too many 1,000 notes. In a country rife with corruption and fraud I doubt the authorities would want anything higher than 1,000. Ever tried passing a 100 Dollar note in Cambodia ? I came back to Bangkok from Siem Reap in Cambodia last week. I only brought 50 & 100 dollar bills to Cambodia. Not one time I had problem getting change back when paying at restaurants, shops and hotels
