March 13, 201412 yr As a 12-year resident of Phuket Town I have noticed it has been quieter over the past few days than I ever remember seeing it. Negligible traffic; even all the houses in my estate seem empty...I assume a lot of it has to do with the schools closing for the hot season break, but it still seems really quiet and I am wondering if I am overlooking any other possible causes...Just wondering if anyone else noticed this and, if so, whether they have other possible explanations...
March 13, 201412 yr School in Kata still open today. I drove into Phuket yesterday a couple of times (11.00 and 16.00) and thought it seemed a little quieter on the roads.
March 13, 201412 yr Some of the private schools are out. I won't say which ones, as I don't want this to turn into another "you don't love your child, if you don't send them to the most expensive international school on earth" thread. It was a pleasant drive to Big C today. The construction north of Tesco is a bit of a mess though.
March 15, 201412 yr High tourism season slowly tapering off, will reflect on the traffic situation all over the island. Edited March 15, 201412 yr by keestha
March 16, 201412 yr High tourism season slowly tapering off, will reflect on the traffic situation all over the island. Excellent, that means i can come back home now, i Love living in ''Phuket'' but detest the high season.. never mind.. ''C'est La Vie''
March 16, 201412 yr perhaps Phuket is dying the death it deserves. And low amounts of traffic in Phuket Town will be an indication of that ?!?!
