PATTAYA – March 14, 2014 [PDN]; Pattaya journalists have seen the tape from CCTV of a thief attempting to snatch a necklace from Mr.Komal Agarwal, a 40 year old Indian, who is also the translator for Pattaya police station. The incident took place on the morning of March 11th, in Siri Urai village, opposite soi Potisarn 4. The necklace had a value of 2THB.

MR. KOMAL. AGARWAL said that, after he had dropped his child to school, he parked his car at the local grocery store at his village. On his return to his car, he saw a boy riding up on his motorbike. It was only when the boy got too close that he realised what was occurring. The boy drove within grabbing distance, and tried to rip the necklace from Mr Agarwal.

2 Baht necklace cheesy.gif

Usual Mickey-Mouse stuff

So funny, well posted.

2 baht weight of gold is not exactly insignificant.

2 Baht gold.....around 40,000 Baht.

Hope they catch the thief......reprimand him and let him go, so next day he will get a 4baht gold necklace.

Nothing unusual in Thailand.coffee1.gif

You would think that someone who presumably sees local police reports regularly would have more sense than to wander around with 40KBaht hanging around his neck.

Hardly a day goes by here without such things being stolen.

As a result of the incident Mr Agarwal wanted to warn everybody about the dangers of wearing expensive jewellery.

So Mr Agarwal want to advise other people not to be as stupid as he is ?

Isn't that what Thai Visa is all about ... the blind trying to lead the "blinder?"

From the news report:

Unfortunately for the would-be thief (or stupidly), he was caught on CCTV, and the image has been plastered around the village, and put on the internet. Hopefully someone will come forward, and call the Pattaya police.

So if anyone sees a bluish blurry man who is wearing clothes but without a face, they should call the Pattaya police.

I will be on the lookout.
