New Rules Regarding Triple Entry Tourist Visa from UK

Featured Replies

I have always obtained my multiple entry tourist visa's from Hull in the UK.

I am in the UK and was about to send off for a triple entry tourist visa from Hull, but was told you can only get the visa in person from Hull, not by post.

Luckily, I managed to get my passport back from the post office that was ready to go to them by special delivery.

All postal applications have to be issued by the Thai Embassy in London (3 to 5 days by post)

Unfortunately, I have left it to the last minute and I have to apply in person and then go back the next day to pick it up.

Was anyone else aware of this or was I just napping?

You were napping !smile.png

The embassy posted an announcement on their website January 2nd that they were accepting mail in applications and that the consulates could no longer accept mailed in one on January 15th.

Hull and Glasgow are the two most popular Thai Consulates being used by visa service companies in Thailand. Anyone could mail a passport from Thailand to the UK and get a twelve month visa. Looks like Thai Immigration have now closed the loophole.

Getting a visa for Thailand while here is not legal and is possibly why they have stopped allowing mail in applications to the consulates. People that abuse or break the rules cause problems for others.

Also it is not immigration that sets the rules for embassies and consulates it is the Ministry of Foreign affairs.
