March 25, 201412 yr What kind of stationery (presentation folders, etc) did you use for your application? I don't like the old fashioned bulky ring binder folders so I'm looking for something lighter but still easy to assemble, organize, and take apart/put back together. March 25, 201412 yr I was just about to post the same question. Be great to see some links and photos of folders people have used for successful VISA applications. I was trained in Graphic Design at University. Believe me, presentation leaves a lasting first impression. People make judgments with the first few seconds of seeing something/someone. Right or wrong. I am sure an ECO would be professional, but good presentation can make it easier to please him/her with a well thought out and easy to read application.
March 25, 201412 yr Anything that makes his/her life easier in assesing your application is bound to make a slight difference. Ring binders are so 90's and a chore to flick through. Edge binders with an index are the way I would probably go? At the end of the day though... does it really matter to a professional ECO?
March 25, 201412 yr If applying at the VFS office in Bangkok, when I done my wife's UK settlement visa they took everything out of the folder and sent it off like that, as long you include a index than the ECO will be able to find all the information that he may require from your application.

March 26, 201412 yr Just keep it simple and easy to read. I think the vfs don't want folders and plastic sleeves, says somewhere on their checklist, kind of shows if you bothered to read that bit or not....not aimed at you op, I am speaking generally. We just used paperclips, no plastic sleeves etc. Order them in the order you think they would like to see, cleanly and without coffee stains on it.

My evidence was all digital so just printed it out at home on a colour laser. The only "index" I did was for the pictures to put them in context.

March 26, 201412 yr My wife just got a UK visitor visa, all her papers were loose, no binders or folders, grouped/stapled together as relevant, each group marked with a number in red, and an index page. They didn't want the index page, no problem with a pile of paper. Visa granted.

(Keep It Simple Son) Whenever I've sponsored a UK visa applicant I've simply put the supporting documents in order in a folder and included a list of them in my sponsor's letter.
March 26, 201412 yr Our first application last year was presented in a plastic clear folder and index. Visa granted and folder returned. Just submitted this years application in the same format and VFS was happy with what was produced. Had an email 2hrs after the appointment saying its been submitted to the UK Embassy.
