Drinking on ferries

Featured Replies

Can anybody please tell me whether alcohol is sold on Thai ferries?

If so, is it because the regulations allow it, or because there are simply no regulations concerning it, or is it because the regulations are being flouted?

Thank you for your replies.

On the Ferries to Ko Chang it is.

Nothing nicer than when looking forward to a week on the beach with pals, kicking things off with a few cold beers on the crossing as you stretch out the kinks of the trip down while female quackpackers scowl at you as though you're some deviant sex tourist for having the sheer temerity of having a Thai wife....for me the holiday starts the second the salty tang is in me bugle...

And it also allows you to easily spot out the alcoholics... sorry, the "heavy drinkers," who can't spend 90 minutes away from booze.
