arrest the bashers ?good. no need for that.

but more importantly, its time to disrobe this con artist "monk", he is dragging buddhism into the mud by playing politics.

You should learn to read.

Oh he reads ok- the daily bullshit sheet supplied to the red boiler room typing pool with instructions of how and when to post the nonsense.

After reading his posting history, that sounds very plausible.

Surprised it's allowed to occur and will have to keep it in mind when reading some of the outrageous posts made here.

Is there any indication anywhere that the monk was being political (other than the fact that they were red shirts?).

See above explanation. It's all about perceptions. From the monk's perspective, the people were engaged in wrongful act, dismantling the PDRC loudspeakers and stage. From the people's perspective, the monk was giving tacit support for the PDRC. Both sides made errors in judgement. Both sides must take responsibility for their actions. The accused have voluntarily surrendered to the police, and are taking responsibility for the assault. And now it is up to the monk to give an explanation of what he said and did. If he is a monk, he must speak the truth and that should make for an interesting statement. If his abbot is running a tight ship, he will expect an honest explanation. Better yet, all involved parties should be sitting before the abbot, and in the presence of each other, give their version of events. That way they can see that they both committed wrongs, although an assault is obviously more serious. And at the end of the exercise, there should be apologies made and a request for forgiveness, which should be granted from each party. Each party should understand that the event was not acceptable, but the monk is held to a higher level of accountability, no matter how wrong the behaviour of the people. A monk is supposed to stay above the fray and not allow himself to enter into a confrontation like this.

Did you even stop to read the article? The monk berated the red shirts because they were beating up another man and he told them to stop. Seems buddhist to me, though I'm not an expert. If you were being beaten, or robbed, wouldn't you want someone to tell the people to stop beating/robbing you, or do you think passerby's should encourage the violence? I realize that the Red Shirts believe that the monk shouldn't have told them to stop - and probably told them they were acting badly and not like good people.

This does not excuse the assault. However, the monk has to

The classic phraseology of an apologist/enabler.

While ostensibly feigning condemnation, always providing an out...an exception... to feebly try to justify what occurs.

Another classic I've found here was:

Laughable stuff to read a white farang tell Thai Buddhists, Thai Buddhist Monks, and Thai Buddhist Abbots what they should and should not do.

And who is going to judge the attitude of the Police?

They were at the scene, as it can be seen on the videos, but they were only interested in searching the bag of the monk.

The police failed to stop the lynching, and they failed to provide the monk with protection or evacuation to a safe place. After a group of kind people provided protection to the monk, it was necessary to call the Royal Thai Army to intervene, because the Red Shirt mob was waiting for the opportunity to keep on their barbarian beating, and it was the unarmed soldiers who escorted the monk back to his monastery.

Royal%20Thai%20Army.jpg

Did the Police earned their payment this month?

was there a lynching? did not see any rope or telephone pole. do you know what the term "lynching" means? get a life!

Thank you very much for providing me with a free lesson in English Language. smile.png

The equivalent word in Spanish “linchamiento” can mean to beat someone without actually killing him.

I made a mistake by assuming that it has the same connotation in English.

http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linchamiento

Could you please provide me with another free lecture, and explain what do you mean with the expression “get a life!” in this particular context? Thank You.

Not surprising unfortunately. Proof if needed that police are just as bad as the reds, hardly surprising the PDRC don't trust the police at all when we see evidence like this is it...

where is a red shirt..??? I keep looking not saw one yet...

You just keep making this crap up as you go along dont you, I can see you have been taking lessons from Nuttawat. The monk who was beaten up by violent reds has nothing to do with politics, you say

'he is dragging buddhism into the mud by playing politics'

Utter crap ! Thailand is being dragged down the toilet by the corrupt criminal caretaker government and their violent red militia.

So we're to believe that in the four hours you've been a registered poster on this forum you have posted several posts and then dedicated the rest of your time to reading moonao's 470 odd posts so that you can ascertain that he's part of some mysterious boiler room conspiracy to post "red shirt propaganda"?

By the way it's against forum rules to suggest that people are paid to post here - unless of course you have proof and then the right people to contact are the mods. Happy posting.

Oh and welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll go far.

Whether this guy is a real policeman or a redshirt pretending to be a policeman or a policeman pretending to be a redshirt or just a redshirt he is still a thug.

I apologize for not having provided enough details on my explanation. I should rewrite it as "a member of the Red Shirts Group" for your better understanding, and to avoid wasting your time searching for an actual red-colored shirt.

Recently, they are even wearing white-color shirts!! They are amazing biggrin.png

The old monk threw a bottle of water at a mob of redshirts and prodded them with his walking cane!

Thank goodness he didn't blow his whistle or it could have ended up as a justifiable homicide.

Monks should stay out of political business. they are required by the ten precepts to be nuetral! it is hard to se who is a monk anymore with tyhem shopping in stores, having cekll phones and behaving like normal citizens. if you mess wit the bull you get the horns! stay in your temples and let the idiots kill themselves and then you can preside at their cremation!

If you don't know what rules Buddhist monks are supposed to follow (there are far more than 10) then please do not try and invent facts.

The same police paraphernalia that I can purchase at my local cop shop store! So what relevance does this have. The RTP did a great job arresting these galahs...

No one has said that the "gentleman" wearing the Royal Thai Police jacket is or is not a Policeman.

What is relevant is that if you have been living enough time in Thailand, you will know the very tight links and the accomplicement between the RTP and the Red Shirt army of Thaksin.

Few weeks ago, since the RTP was the target of criticism for not providing protection to the citizens of Bangkok against the violent attacks, the Red Shirts organized a parade (In Chiang Mai, I believe) for showing their support to their Police.

Even lemmings and sheep have limited intelligence - not sure about what is on display here, and worth noting - seems the majority are actually police with limited number of supporters .

Ah classic Thai male behaviour. An old man walks by says some silly things and it takes about ten people to beat him up.

Why farang no love old people same Thai?

I seem to remember at least 2 females putting the boot in during the video......

Apart from the dog pack mentality, I thought that thai women were taught from very young not to touch a monk in any way..

It's ok, cause he wasn't a real monk anyway - just ask a few of the red supporters here, they will confirm the fact as they are able to tell real from false just by looking at a video clip.

These "galahs" surrendered. The monk retreated into the shop. All the police did was turn up later and take him away.

Basically, the police did nothing.

Democratic end of a negotiation. Now, in Thailand.....

Why should being white make a difference? Is Buddhism racist? Since Buddhism wasn't Thai in the first place why should we listen to them anyway apart from the fact that their style of Buddhism seems to have been concocted in their own minds for their own benefit.

The issue with this monk other than the fact that violence is wrong anyway seem to be the actual course of events which don't appear to be certain right now.

Actually that is an insult to the beautiful pink and grey parrots native to Australia, calling these disgusting scumbags "galahs".

And as crazy as your average galah is, any one bird would have more intelligence, morals and decency than every filthy redshirt in Thailand combined. Thai Rouge indeed !

Yet another poor, misguided clown who thinks everyone who is anti-government is pro-Suthep. No wonder these stupid comments are looked down upon and whoever writes this troll rubbish is considered to be "looking for a bite".
