Most hotels have a land line, every shop that takes credit cards has a land line, post office have land lines, every fax requires a land line..... shouldn't be too much of a problem I guess thinking about it.

You can also apply for a VoIP service like sipgate.co.uk, you can use it with your computer or smartphone. They also offer local british numbers, so no one could tell any difference. (For registration of a local number you need to use a UK ip address, VPN or a friend back home can help).

Its anyhow a useful service, so friends and family back home can call you for cheap. You can also call out to the UK at local rates.

Skype offer landline numbers. I got one September 2012 and it costs me 10 quid (500 Baht) every three months. I put a tenner credit on it when I got the number And it ran out a couple of weeks back. Didn't use it much but was good to have.

All good ideas, but for a 'one off' call to the UK too much hassle....
