Just a thought, been trying to organise a debit card (Visa, Master etc.) through banks here but all I can get are the cr4ppy Visa Electron which is useless online.

Anybody have experience opening a bank in Malaysia?

Is it possible to open an account and get a "proper" debit card if living in Thailand.

All advice gratefully received.

Yes go to HSBC online and apply then fill out all and verify location then mail them paperwork viola account setup. Careful of taxes!
