The last couple of days (since the rain) I have been having trouble withdrawing funds from the ATM. There are only three here where I live and each give a different error message. One says "unable to process at this time", the second one says " card timed out" and the third one says "communication error". These three machines belong to different banks. I have checked online and I have funds available so I am a little perplexed, plus I am starting to run a little low on ready cash. Anyone experiencing the same or has any idea of what the problem may be?

(Its times like these I feel glad I have hidden some Ausie dollars and will exchange them should this become necessary)

Perhaps it is an area problem, or even worse, an error on your card. When the banks open, take the card inside and try from there.

I used mine this morning without a problem.

Unable to process at this time is when your banks system is down. Others I don't know. I use 2 bank cards from 2 different banks in Canada. One fails the other always works.

you need to talk with your bank. they might have detected fraud and switched the card off or there could be some other issue on their end. call your bank and explain, they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Thanks everyone for the advice, into town shortly and will try all of your good advice. Nuisance though, but if unresolved makes me glad I had some foresight re cash stash. (My bank says no problems with card)

You dont say what area you are in so no one can comment from that area of their experience.

Logic says, either yiur card is useless, or the banks connections in that area have issues.
