PM will attend the 2nd CICA Summit Declaration in Kazakhstan

Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra will attend the 2nd Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA). The international conference is aimed at promoting peace, security, and stability in Asia.

The meeting will be held between June 16th and 18th in Kazakhstan. The Thai premier will reach the country at 17:00 hours on June 17th, and then he will give his speech at the conference. Later, he will sign an agreement, namely the Agreement on CICA, with the CICA Secretariat. Following the signing ceremony, Dr. Thaksin is scheduled to attend the 2nd CICA Summit Declaration.

The first conference was initiated by Mr. Nursultan A. Zarbayev, the President of Kazakhstan, on October 1992. This is the first time for Thailand to join this event, and the country has become the member of CICA in 2004. This conference is a good opportunity for Thailand to strengthen the bilateral relationship with Kazakhstan.
