Weird indeed? Hard to believe it was bad reporting though. When it was a direct quote? And when it was reported previously that Halpin was refused both police and court bail and there is no doubt he could with ease come up with the necessary bail? This story has a lot of mileage in it.

If he is still held there....there is a story behind it you can bet......some bargaining going on and doubt they want him out for there sight for obvious reasons.

Up until recently almost nobody has been given access to see him I believe....except his lawyer.

Halpin was an addict by choice. Greed and gluttony got the better of him. His covert activities provided him a slush fund and a jaded pallet. He benefited on the misfortune even stupidity of others and did so without care, consideration or remorse. He leaves behind two lovely kids and a wife who did not deserve him. Halpin never did anything without expecting a return on his investment. He is where he belongs.

What about all the "Halpin's" on Phuket that are Thai and wearing brown uniforms that are addicted to money and continue to do the same as Halpin, day in, day out?

Why do they get a free pass?

Oh, that's right, they are Thai, and so called, "real police."

Yeah, whats your point? Hardly a revelation!

Point is, Halpin is just a small fish in a big ocean of corruption on Phuket, and many posters seem to think he is the "catch of the day."

He only got done because he is a farang.

THAT is the point, he is a farang! Jesus you can get deported for being a tour guide, imagine when you steal the jobs from BIB - the real cash cows!

I've got a secret.

Is that the rumour going around that he is going to roll over on other corrupt police for a smaller sentence????

Mummy taught me not to be a tattle tale..

Banged up in Phuket provincial jail it is very difficult to get access to Halpin. The only ones who can see him freely but still have to make appointments are his lawyer and his partners in crime the investigating police. He is totally cut off from the outside world. Lesser mortals can only see him for 10 minutes twice a week and all visitors names are recorded in the prison log. In a holding cell in Chalong police station people can come and see him at will and all maters of plans and agreements can be made. Maybe that is the reason why he is there. If he is? Which I doubt? He can even have a mobile phone... And of course he could easily meet his demise there quite easily. And he ain't going to roll over for a lesser sentence because the last thing the corrupt system in Phuket want is Halpin back on the streets.

I think Mr. Halpin is going to suffer heat stroke soon.
