I know this topic been beat to hell but I always buy a dbl entry TR visa because I stay in country for 6 months.But this time I'm only going for 2 months.Can I just get my TR visa at airport for 1 month and then extend it another 30 days when time comes?My understanding is that it's 1000 baht at airport otherwise it's a lot more expensive if I get it here in America first.

You cannot get a Visa at the airport.

You need a Visa before you travel.

Some Nationalities can get a VOA for a fee of 1,000 Baht.

This gives a stay of 15 days.

You do not get a tourist visa on entry. You will get a 30 day visa exempt entry. A visa exempt entry can only be extended for 7 days.

The 1000 baht at the airport is for a VOA that only gives a 15 day entry and is only for those from certain countries.

You should get a single entry tourist visa before traveling.
