What language is that name?

Many languages pronounce certain letters differently than English, so knowing the language is very important to get an accurate transcription.

Yes, this is because "j" in many languages are pronounce different from English.

In this case I presume "j" in Jalen is same as "j" in "Justin"?

Jalen is it like "jay-len" or "ja-len"?

"jay" is it pronounced like "giant" or like in "Jason".

If like "giant" it's ไจเลน

If like "jason" it's เจเลน

I presume "len" is like in "Helen"?

last name is โจโรเก or โจโรเกะ if that last "gay" is pronounced like a short "gay" like the Spanish "que".

Then it's a short vowel, โจโรเกะ.

Is "joe" also short?

If "njo" is short, then โจะโรเกะ

I think most likely "njo" is short, so โจะโรเกะ should be more correct.

I presume in Kikuyu language, the "n" at the beginning will make you pronounce the "jo" short, then "ro" with longer "o"?

Yes, I'm native Thai, but I spent my childhood in Norway.

I am fascinated by some of the African languages which has those peculiar click sounds.

Does Kikuyu also have them?
