Chalerm fears bloodshed if court terminates PM Yingluck

Might happen when courts play politics at the expense of the other and people just had just about enough of this kind of double standard. Hope the courts realized this and don't over extend their limits beyond what they legally can. Court reform must be top of the agenda for next government.

It's not about the correct application of the law, it's about the end result, Chalerm quite explicitly said that if Yingluck is found guilty there will be blood, regardless of the legality of the veredict.

No he didn't he said there could be bloodshed if Yingluck is found guilty. Nothing about "there will be blood" or "regardless of the legality". You guys just write anything on here and expect to get away with it...........

You really having trouble with your reading, aren't you? Or did you deliberately leave out the "could" as in

"his fears that violence could break out if the premier was found guilty of her charges"

likewise you left out the qualifier "until the new government takes office" as in

PM Yingluck and her cabinet must remain in power until the new government takes office.

...............as per the Constitution.

See, both those phrases in their original form read as quite reasonable things to say, not the sinister little soundbites you changed them into.

You're so transparent rubl, who are trying to kid?

quotes are quotes, they come in quotation marks. If not, you can't quote them verbatim.comprehension?

OK Mr Pedantic, for the sake of argument will you accept that Chalerm is reported to have said things, but they are not shown in quotation marks in this particular article. I have used quotation marks to make it easy for the hard of thinking to understand. Obviously I have failed.

My argument still stands that the usual suspects on here are working themselves up into a frenzy over a deliberate inflammatory summary made up by the News Bureau, not Chalerm, not that it will stop them venting their collective angst, it seems.

His threats are clear, the veredict must be "innocent" or else...

Does read like a veil threat. That is the street fighter style of Chalerm similar to Chuvit or Suterp. These are no gentlemen and will confront threat with even stronger threat. The past '06 military and '08 judiciary coups were able to connive pretty smoothly and without any confrontation. Things wouldnt be that easy this time with the UDD, politicians and academics providing the criticism and the deterrent against the group that continue to undermine democracy.

Haven't even read the article. Was taken aback by Chalerm's title! Thought at first Thailand was getting a little more honest journalism. The Urban Dictionary definition, "Caporegime / capo is a name for a captain in the mafia family, the family will consist of many captains and the boss which is a capo crimini." How ironic is that!

So far for the past 2 months the only thing Chalerm has done for his salary is threaten and intimidate both the NACC and the CC.

What he most fears is that once this sad act of a government are finally toppled, he himself be in a very precarious situation involving the things he has gotten up to during the Thaksin reign and will probably face prison or exile.

Hasn't he personally arrested Suthep yet? whistling.gif.pagespeed.ce.FVjgnKnWS1.pn alt=whistling.gif width=19 height=18>

Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO) Director Chalerm Yubamrung said Thursday that he would disguise himself to mingle with the protesters in his attempt to have protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban arrested.

He went into disguise but the guards recognized him immediately.

Does it ever bother you that you, how can I put this politely, misrepresent the facts to back up your "argument" ?

It wasn't a threat it was an observation of the possible outcome of the case verdict. As head of CAPO and being responsible for "keeping the peace" it would be a massive oversight if he didn't make people aware of the possible ramifications.

No threat??

Therefore, the CAPO director has warned both the Charter Court and the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to be impartial and think about the consequences.

Did Chalerm also say how he would try to prevent bloodshed?

Did Chalerm also say that he would protect the courts and the judges?

Did Chalerm also say how he would protect the public?

Did Chalerm also say that the Red shirts and other protestors should stay away from the courts?

Otherwise it sounds like a threat coming from Thaksin's right-hand CAPO man.

Look what the same group is doing to prevent bloodshed!!

BANGKOK: -- The United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship will stage a mass rally on May 6 – one day ahead of the Constitutional Court’s anticipated ruling on the status of caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

Give us a brake with your Red propaganda fab4. Chalerm was clearly making a threat.

So you missed the whole debate showing that your quote above "therefore the CAPO Director has warned etc" was not made by Chalerm but was a summation made by the NNT News Bureau?

Obviously.

A classic example of anti cliches : "Look what the same group is doing to prevent bloodshed!!".

So you're implying the UDD by holding a mass rally, 8 kms away from Lumpini Park is going to produce bloodshed?

How about you give me a break from the drip, drip, drip of the same old cliches about the government / Thaksin / UDD

Once the PTP fiefdom is out of office for good, we won't have to see and hear the same old cliches that echo the same old graft since 2002.

I'm not sure if this forum attracts more than it's fair share of people who can't or won't read posts properly and understand them before posting or that education standards have dropped alarmingly.

I use punctuation marks in my post to highlight particular points.

The NNT News Bureau prints what people have said without using punctuation - instead they rely on the readers intelligence to work out when they write "he added" that the reader would realise that the preceding or following sentence was attributable to that person. e.g

Mr. Chalerm added that PM Yingluck and her cabinet must remain in power until the new government takes office.

See, that sentence was attributable to Chalerm

Now lets look at the next sentence

Therefore, the CAPO director has warned both the Charter Court and the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to be impartial and think about the consequences.

See, no qualifiers. The use of the word therefore is a device used by the author to indicate a summing up ( did you ever do experiments at school and had to write a report , or Theorems in Maths?) That sentence is not attributable as a quote, it is a summation by the writer of the article.

If Chalerm had said that it would probably be written

The Capo Director warned both the Charter Court and the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to be impartial and think about the consequences

If you can't understand that or don't want to, whatever, I'm done trying to convince you.

A complete pantomime. The drunkard has spent a fortune on running this PTP office of enforcement. Cannot keep the peace or catch anyone who attacks and kills those opposed to its regime or innocents. Not one person caught and prosecuted.

All threats and bluster. Shouldn't he be warning that anyone who breaks the law or is violent will be arrested and dealt with according to the law. Shouldn't he be saying that people should respect the courts decisions even if they disagree with them or they are different to their own political agendas. Shouldn't he be saying that regardless of the decision, if he is still in a caretaker role of authority,he will act in accordance with the law.

Of course but he won't. Simply do and say as the master tells him in the hope he's next in line for prime place at the trough.

Many people used to say "well anyone would be better than YL". Guess there's gotta be one to prove the rule!

If he feels he's incapable of doing his job and stopping the bloodshed he should resign. But everyone knows that not what CAPO was set up for.

If Labor Minister Pol Capt Chalerm Yoobamrung, is worried about blood shed just do what he said he was going to do. Cut off his own head and he won't have to worry any more and it will leave a position open for some body with out ear medicine problems.

On the other hand he could talk to his boss in Dubai about calling off the dogs of war. Not that I think Thaksin will listen to him.wai.gif

Same threats Chalerm has been making for the last 2 weeks. Impeach the useless caretakers and get the army in a.s.a.p. Meet force with force. Let the reds start the fight and let the army end it. Then maybe the country can move forward..

The Thai military raided and bombed so called red shirt villages in the 1970's under the pretence of ridding the country of communists and here we are 50years later suggesting the same thing, that's not moving forward, its back to the future. wai2.gif

They say this is a developing country, but the reality is it's always the same story, nothing practically changed since 1932.

Only powermongers, blood-thirsty and selfish people trying to get the whole cake.

With the good or the bad manners doesn't matter to them. What does matter is the cake.
