Hi just wonder about the lao entry visa ,,

Its 1500 thb or 20 usdollar , but if just go for the stamps i hate to pay that everytime , anyone tried getting all stamps on entry without paying the fee ?

Or transitvisa how much they want for that ?

Somebody tried but did not succeed.

The fee for the transit visa is the same as for the tourist visa and depends on the applicant's nationality.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

The Lao visa on arrival for those from most countries is 1500 baht or $35.

There is no way around paying the visa fee, entering/departing Laos and then re-entering Thailand.

Try the food at Lin's cafe. There's a cheap hotel about a 6 minute walk from the consulate building. Walk to the end of the road, bear to the right, zig-zag the streets about 3 over and four up. It's on the corner. Four yellow buildings with a large courtyard. 320 baht/wifi/beer lao

Oh yeah! do NOT miss those delish pate sandwhichs on fresh french bread. The stands are everywhere. Just look for the bread rolls. 30-35 baht

Lin's was closed for Tet when I was there last, I read a lot of good stuff about her place on Trip Advisor - I was actually pretty disappointed with the pizza (and the coffee) at Chez Bourne

Have done this run many times, I live in Mukdahan, last week visa cost 1300baht, if you provide your own photo otherwise they charge for taking one, or so they say, as in the past no photo taken unless they photocopy the one in your passport. Sometimes they have also charge 20baht at the "Arrivals" and "Departure" booths, but not last week.

The Lao visa fee varies by country. You must be from one of the countries that get it for less than $35.
