Wife showed me this last night, gotta love it, pretty ingenious for really although I dont know how long it would last on some of the roads over here, would be in pieces after the first hundred k

That created a good laugh....thanks. I wonder what wind rating he chose.....cheesy.gif

A Thai topper

I saw that in Koh Chang...

This model comes fully fitted. A charcoal burner, a fan and a couple of chickens.

In the immortal words of Nell (played by Jodie Foster):

Want.

It looks like something that the hamster would build on Top Gear!!

How strange that no one ever thought of it before.

Oh. Wait. Yes they did.

.

The latest budget motohome from Winnebago, for export only.

Looks like something off Top Gear.

A guy here in CNX bought a slightly used red Songtaew, converted it into a motor home, did a good job of it, and now travels all over Thailand with his "camper".

But there's no front porch for car-sized speakers. It'll never sell.

I'll bet he is not in Debt though.....Unfortunately, it will take him a long time to sell or trade up....biggrin.png

I can imagine the weight of that thing. Top speed might be 35KPH.

It come with PC BBQ

yes the weight factor would be massive I would imagine. Dont think the windows would last a long time on thai roads either, especially that front one although the speed wouldnt be a problem for it, doubt it could go fast enough to cause the window to pop out.

And here I thought that all new homes were made of concrete. The pigs will have to run really fast to keep up.

squat or sit toilet?

Woulnt matter if you were following it down the road......New meaning to "being in the S**T"

Not downhill !

I saw this in Phuket last year, looked ok and sturdy enough.

The weight probably prevents it from hitting speeds that would make it rattle apart.

I don't think weight is the limiting factor since this thing probably doesn't weigh more than a baht bus with 30 people in it- and I've seen some of them build up a pretty good head of steam.

Now, wind resistance and chunks falling off in the slipstream.... that's another story.

How can people who supposedly have lived in Thailand get off criticizing this vehicle and by extension its owner, even in jest? How much baht to you think the owner of this camper pulls in per month? This is one of countles examples of Thai resourcefulness, which as far as I can tell is unequaled anywhere. Far preferable to the 'exceptional' west, where a much fancier and costly store-bought and bank owned example would be gracing some idiot's car park 350 of 365 days. It may not appeal to your sense of decorum, but who should he have to impress? While I realize you are not all malicious. it is still this underlying sense of uniquely western entitlement that has rightly caused 'farang' to become synonymous with cancer over time. This is Thailand for God's sake. Get with the program and stop ridiculing people who show only superior will and resolve in the face of staggering adversity. Thanks for listening.

Yeah, the roof definitely has a slope on it.

I've seen better sheds built on a Wave with sidecar.
