BANGKOK: -- Anti-Government People's Demo-cratic Reform Committee (PDRC) leader Suthep Thaugsuban vowed yesterday that his group was launching a final battle to topple caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra in three to seven days.

Suthep made the comment to Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) staff as he led thousands of protesters to PEA headquarters on Ngamwongwan Road in Nonthaburi, in an attempt to persuade state enterprise employees to join the upcoming mass protest to oust Yingluck.

"We need to win in this [final] battle. It may take three, five, or seven days," he told PEA staff. "There will be several special operations along with the rally."

Suthep told supporters at Lumpini Park on Wednesday night that on April 30 he would announce when and where the PDRC would have the final rally and urged supporters nationwide to get ready when he blew the whistle.

"It will be the final, the end of our almost six-month-long peaceful protest, when all people come out together to overthrow her [Yingluck]," he said.

He added that if Yingluck was not toppled, he was "ready to give up and turn myself in to the police and let these bad guys remain in power to plunder the country".

PEA staff welcomed PDRC leaders with the blowing of whistles, roses, money garlands and lemonade. "PDRC and PEA … love the nation and reform Thailand" was written on the cups.

Suthep had earlier received strong support from executives at several state enterprises, saying they were just waiting for him to "blow the whistle again". They included executives from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, the Metropolitan Electricity Authority and the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives.

Suthep plans to march to Thai Airways International's head office today. The national carrier's union has vowed to come out in full force to welcome him.

Meanwhile, United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship adviser Thida Tavornseth said the body would hold six "warm-up" rallies in some provinces over the next week as a rehearsal for a mass rally prior to the Constitutional Court ruling on Yingluck's premiership status. The case relates to the unlawful transfer of National Security Council chief Thawil Pliensri.

hahaha... the final battle, before the next final battle. At what point does the finalness of his comments become ridiculous to his listeners? Or are we losing something in the translation?

"We need to win in this [final] battle. It may take three, five, or seven days,"

If it's not achieved in this life time.......there's always the next.........or the next..........or............................

Suthep has already admitted openly that he has been surprised at the just how stubborn this government is.....

BTW this is the same final push from the last 2 months, not a different one. This is the one based on the constitutional court case and NACC negligence cases. Which both seem to be getting constantly stretched out... So of course the final battle is constantly getting stretched out the same.

If these cases end up in YL's favour as I am starting to suspect through constant intimidation, then Suthep should call everything off and declare that it is officially over for Thailand, and they are all going to head down the toilet, and do not come crying when it all happens.... and we all know he will be right.

Thaksin will be back, and the country will go bankrupt, and Thailand will see a massive civil war.

What is even more boring than constant 'final battle' headlines.... is the same old faces spewing out the same old 'not another final battle' boll-ox and not offering up a debate.

The limit of their intelligence maybe?... who knows??

Thailand definitely doesn't need Thaksin back that is for sure but this Suthep character is still a Moron and if he is the best that Thailand can come up with to lead this movement then the country has already been flushed. Thaksin is a crook yes but Suthep is a bloody laughing stock and making the whole of Thailand look stupid. I find it more comical that the lunatic can find people likeminded people to follow him.

If anyone is making Thailand look stupid.... It is this completely inept and nepotistic government and prime minister.

Suthep would have to work 7 x 12 hour shifts a week without a break in the insanity stakes, just to match a single sentence that comes out of YL's stupid gob.

He characterizes it as a "final battle." It is astonishing how Thais are easily duped and manipulated by people like this. No questions asked. He's a Thai authority figure, we trust him until the next one comes along.

I am not surprised by how they are easily manipulated by people like Thaksin or Suthep. After all to follow anything is told them without asking is inculcated to them since their childhood.
