Can I get compliance for MC, How to calculate import tax

Featured Replies

I come to Thailand on a regular basis, I have a Harley in Australia I would like to bring to Thailand.

If I strip the Harley and build it here in Thailand. Does anyone know I can get compliance, and how much it would cost. How would they calculate the duty on the bike and will their be luxury tax and if so how can they make this conclusion.

getting a secondhand motorbike that is imported as parts legal is nigh on impossible. unless you have deep pockets that is.

Taxes total 234% of the value the customs officers decide to put on it. If you don't have contacts don't think about importing secondhand.

This would be more appropriate on the motorcycle forum. And it has already been discussed many many many times. Long story short, really it is cheaper just to buy a Harley in Thailand (yes and I know they are expensive in Thailand). There is a good chance you will either pay more by doing it yourself (if you are lucky) or (if you aren't) you will lose your bike. Unless you know someone, it's hard to make happen. Sorry, but that is the reality.
