Another suicide at Tiffany’s Shooting Range in North Pattaya. French man shoots himself in the head.

We now report on another apparent suicide at the Tiffany Shooting Range in North Pattaya. In front of Booth Number 10 lay the body of Mr. Dihrisso Mamadol aged 31 from France. Inside his trouser pocket was a suicide note in English Language which stated that he was broken hearted over a Thai woman who had recently left him after a lengthy relationship.

Using a 9mm semi-automatic hand gun hired from the Shooting Range he shot himself in the head. Police Lieutenant Colonel Chanatat from Pattaya Police Station oversaw the investigation at the scene and interviewed staff at Tiffany’s who claimed the man rented a gun and was assigned Booth Number 10, he appeared normal and in no way emotional as he approached the booth. He came to the center with a lady called “Mot” who was shocked and surprised at the successful suicide attempt and was unaware of any domestic problems with Mr. Mamadol.

Once again the Tiffany Shooting Range is under the spotlight with three suicides in the last year. Despite each case, the shooting range has not updated their safety procedures. Although suicides can be hard to prevent when individuals are given access to live ammunition, the debate about whether shooting ranges should be banned here in Thailand is sure to continue based on this event.

You sure he's from France?

I'm thinking it may be better if Tiffany's used corks rather than bullets in their guns.

When I was but a wee mouse, I had a great time firing corks out of my pop gun. My corks were attached to string, impossible to lose.

Now.....I'm firing blanks. :o

I suppose that you needed something to get you off the ground. :o

Very sad indeed. My wife here was reading Thai Rat online and said there that he had approached a Thai man in soi buacow (spelt wrong :o ) where he was staying and enquired as to where he could buy a gun. The man thought he was joking.

Banning shooting ranges will not stop people killing themselves, that is no arguement. Had these people been turning the guns on innocent people then the arguement would hold water.

Shame he had no one close to him to help. Indeed why not just get p**ssed and there are plenty of girls there :D

Life in Pattaya can't be that bad. Can you guys come up with at least one new topic a day to bury the suicides, shootings, and robberies?

"Farang marries Thai who never was a bar girl."

"Sasacha gets top marks in her science class yesterday."

"Property values are up, even for condos with balconies."

"Amish will hold pacifist convention in Pattaya."

"Four years without being robbed of one satang in Jomtien."

I think if you're broke Pattaya is probably not the most exiting place to hang out.

I still don't understand why anyone would commit suicide by jumping off balconies or shooting themselves when you can buy drugs over the counter to take care of it in a calm and painless way.

I agree....but it seems as though they like to follow trends.....probably read the news about the recent Tiffany and jumping suicides and follow suit.

Shame that they don`t think about the poor buggers who have to clean up the mess!

If you look at the current first page of topics you will see a very diverse range of subjects from football to dog kennels.

Killings, robberies and the sordid side of life make headlines anywhere in the world.

Pattaya is a vibrant expanding city and with it comes many things including horror stories and the seedier side of life.

I am afraid that your topic on subjects like Sasacha`s school marks would get very little interest :o

NO MONEY, NO HONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the motto for the vast majority of Thai women. When the money is gone, the woman is gone. It is the Thai way.

There is no love in Thailand just money.

1) You don't pick up nice girls when you're broke.

2) If they skip you when your down and out you got the wrong girl.

3) If the girl was a prostitute when you found her (including "me only cashier" etc) chances are it's the wrong girl. This is of course not to say that it can't succeed, just that you're starting against the odds.

This is the case anywhere in the world. Duh.

Yes, really a sad subject, difficult to discuss. I hesitate to even post comments in community-type forums where I haven't lived.

In the ThaiVisa's forum rules, paragraph 1) does not permit comments about certain subjects such as pedophilia, suicide, and other things. The moderators and administrators agree that suicides should be noticed with a initial posting, and then the thread should be closed without further comments. Thanks.
