Why Do Thai Passport Holders Need To Get Visas To Go Almost Anywhere?

Featured Replies

Careful, or this is going to morph into an American political discussion, and you know, we can't have that ...

That's why we have the Bearpit! :o

I asked this question on Google Answers a while back...

Thai citizen - what countries can visit without visa before travel

http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=701425

Not exactly what the post is about, but some people might find usefulll if they are like me and decide to go on a holiday at the last minute with someone thai.

One thing that I found from that list, which I perused pondering travel options with my thai gf, is that it is extremely difficult, or more likely, impossible, to get her into the Western hemispere without a visa. can someone figure how to get that done?

Yes, you apply to the relevent embassy and supply sufficient evidence to show she meets the criteria and the visa will be issued.

In the last year for which figures are available (2004/05) the British embassy in Bangkok alone issued 39,938 visas of various types from 43,511 applications. A success rate of nearly 95%. (Source)
