May 2, 201412 yr In case you were wondering.., Last month I drove South to Bangkok via the Phrae-Uttaradit-P'lok route and was amazed that road repairs have made little improvement on the surface which broke up in the major floods of '12 This week I reverted to the "old" route via Lampang-Kampangphet etc. and ground the same state of dis-repair... Is it me, or is the whole road network breaking up countrywide? Maybe it's a wicked plot by the BIB to get us to slow down. Mmmmmmm
May 3, 201412 yr You should see the roads down here (sriracha) the pot holes are that deep there are families living in them. Fair dinkum!!! I hit one and the front tire slipt and had tp get a new one .I tried not to drive at night time as I cant see them till it is too late. Have you seen how they make the roads in this country .
May 3, 201412 yr I view it more like an ebb and flow sort of thing, where by the time they reach the end of their road work, it is time to head back to the beginning and start all over again. Its kind of a well orchestrated dance which keeps all things in balance. Now if it were to all collapse at once that would be a different matter all together. I will bow to your judgement as to whether the BIB has a hand in it, or not.
May 5, 201412 yr This is what happens when you do not have a proper government in office. The longer the delay, the worse the road conditions get. But some people want the elections delayed further. I cannot see the logic in that... Tsk tsk...
May 5, 201412 yr Just visited CR from CK yesterday and was commenting on the major potholes. As of 1800 hours today I'll stop complaining about the minor potholes. Will this speed up the repair? 2014-05-05 18:08 Earthquake

I cannot see the logic in that... Tsk tsk... So it's not due to the high level of corruption, when there is a proper government in office ? Road-construction standards here are often poor IME, no wonder when the one-inch tarmac village-road breaks-up next monsoon/flood-season, it'll just be scraped-off & mixed with a little more oil/asphalt and then relaid to-look-like-new. Then the skimmed spoils will be distributed amongst the local unworthy, repeat as/when new budgets are set, and the current-2014-budget is still running. Perhaps if the political-mess lasts beyond the autumn, there may be some noticeable effect, attributable to a failure/inability to set a new budget.
