I rented a Tuna and Trailblazer for 2 mths...

But I got Kia Sorento during last year Motor Show....

kimchi cars beat tomyam cars anytime...

Anytime other than finding a dealer outside BKK, servicing or reselling.

Is Yontrakit still the only dealer ? cheesy.gif

Constructive comments on the Trailblazer for the OP seem to be rare?

Ok.. gota admit.. the big downside is the agent sucks!!

I bought from Nakonchai...

The service level is non existent...

Hv yet to go back for my 1st services...

Anyway, regardless how bad the agents are... I enjoy my ride...

What is the point of hving a good agent but a lousy ride..

Indeed, but also, what's the point of having a good ride with terrible aftersales service?

Seems like the sweet spot is a few more Baht up in price range :)

  • 4 weeks later...

I rented a brand new trailblazer LTZ for a week. Quite a nice ride overall

- very good transmission, close to no lag at all

- hard seats but somehow comfortable enough for a long trip

- very noisy at low speed with an horrible clattering noise but quite silent aftewards

- smooth and comfortable ride

- feels like noting is happening when pressing the gas pedal but can actually overtake easily

- worst GPS system ever!

- seat folding mechanism could be improved (passengers still had problem lifting them after a week using the car)

Anyway I had some weird issue pretty much every time I used low gear braking on steep downhills. I switched to manual and used low gear 2 or 3, never went over 3000rpm but after a while, had an alarm ringing and a "engine power reduced" sign on the dashboard. The engine would not go back to normal mode, so I had to stop the car and start it again after every downhill. Is that a bug or should I have done it the thai way of driving, both feet on the brakes?

I would agree they do...except resale! Hard to get proper info from Kia website. It seems the Sorento does not have 4WD, can you confirm this to be the case?

Nope.. Its not 4WD...

Juz to share that it is not the top range in terms of gadgets..

The dash displays is not LCD..

No auto door lock while driving off..

No 3rd row aircon.

Anyway, it is the engine power that I'm after... :)

Suggest maybe to buy it second hand. I recently attended an auction for reposessed cars and Chevy pick ups and SUVs that were between 12-18 months old went for about 40-60% discount from the original price. Now maybe you don't want second hand, it's jut an idea.Other brands take about 5-6 years to drop to same level in price.
