Retirement extension application timing

Featured Replies

Today I tried to get a (first) retirement extension on my non-immig 0 visa.

I was told that I was applying too early. Not possible earlier than 45 days before the Admitted Entry Until stamp date in the passport, and NOT as I assumed 45 days before the expiry of the non-immig O visa.

The reason I applied so early is that I am making a visit to the UK for 3 weeks and am returning after the expiry of my non -immig O.

Now I have been granted a Re-Entry Permit (Non-Imm) so I can re-enter Thailand and stay until the existing Admitted Entry Until date.

So the simple question is: on my return can I apply for a extension based on retirement using the Non-Imm visa which is now out of date? (But I do have a valid non-immig re-entry permit).

Basically I want to cut out the need for converting to a new non-O visa.

Hope all the above is clear.

Thanks

The expiration date of your visa does not matter because you are not extending it (it is not possible to extend a visa). You are extending your 90 day permit to stay that the visa allowed you to get.

You will be able to do your extension of stay when you return without a problem.
