Local Elections

Featured Replies

Did you have a dry weekend, due to the local government elections?

It used to be that bars could not sell alcohol for the 24 hour period around an election, ususally ending at 6pm on the day of the election. I suppose the Thais cannot be trusted to go and vote without someone buying their vote with a drink!!

This weekend my local restaurant told me that they had been banned from selling beer for 3 day.

Was this true in other locations, or only my town here in Chonburi?

Pattaya, being in Chonburi province, should surely follow the same rules.

But, although bars and go-go's were closed on Friday for Macchu Picchu (?spelling?), things were most definitely back to normal on Saturday.

Maybe it was just your restaurant, or maybe they know you too well ???

Had our 2 ??? local potential candidates round from TRT (2 of them in Sam Prac.??)and told them I would not be voting for either if the pubs get shut again. They just waked away so I will definately go for the Socialist-sorry Soc.Dem....yes.
